this page is short because the room does little. where something is uncertain, it says so rather than reassuring you.
it is recorded in this browser and stored in this browser. it is not sent anywhere. there is no account, and no server involved. clearing this browser's data deletes every stream in it, and nothing anywhere else has a copy — take is how you keep one elsewhere.
signing in is not open yet. when it is: your streams are encrypted on your device before they leave it. the server stores the encrypted form and holds no key, so it cannot listen to them — and neither can anyone who takes them from it.
nothing is ever transcribed automatically. recording does not do it, syncing does not do it, and there is no background job that does it later. the only thing that sends a recording out is you tapping read on that one stream, and it sends only that stream.
when you do, that recording goes as plain audio to sarvam ai, a transcription service. this is the one time a recording leaves your device unencrypted. a stream you never tap read on is never sent, and no one at this end can send it for you.
sarvam's terms say recordings are not used for training without opt-in, and are deleted on request within thirty days. we asked how long they are kept otherwise and have not had an answer, so we cannot tell you how long sarvam retains what you send it. if that matters to you, do not ask for words — everything else in the room works without them.
the room is also not your only option. take downloads a stream, and you can transcribe it yourself with a tool that runs on your own machine and sends nothing anywhere. the room will not have those words, but you will.
your email address. when each stream was made, and how long it runs. not what is in it.
no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, no cookies. if you have signed in, the session is kept in this browser's own storage and stays there until you use leave or clear the browser — closing the tab does not end it. cloudflare serves the site and sees what any web host sees, including your address and the times you visited.
empty the room deletes everything: what is here, and what is held for you. what has already gone to sarvam is beyond our reach, and the room will not pretend otherwise.
